Vale Sir Michael Hill. ? Like many in our community, we are saddened by the passing of Sir Michael Hill, founder of Michael Hill Jewellers and celebrated jeweller, entrepreneur and philanthropist. In 1979, Sir Michael and his wife Lady Christine created the Michael Hill brand in New Zealand, then growing it into one of the most recognised names in jewellery in Australia. Microsoft’s latest data shows 70%+ of APAC retailers are already embedding Gen AI across operations—from HR bots to marketing copilots. Social commerce, hyper-localisation, and unified commerce are no longer trends—they’re non-negotiables. The pressure is real, but so is the potential. 2. In China, purpose is the premium.
